Launch of the Recruitment to Civic Academy Held by Lech Walesa Institute

Between 1 and 29  July 2011, recruitment to Civic Academy is taking place. This being the second edition of the international summer school held by The Lech Walesa Institute.

Civic Academy is a Project participated by thirty young public life leaders from Poland, EU and Eastern Partnership countries. This year it will take place in the TriCity on 28 September -2 October as a programme accompanying the European Forum of New Ideas organized by the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan to celebrate the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. Debated issues will focus on the most pressing economic and civilizational challenges facing Europe.

Over several intense days, the Project participants will attend sessions, panel debates, and workshops organized by the Civic Academy’s partners, as well as meetings with representatives of culture, business, and politics.

Applying candidates are to comply with several criteria: they must be under 35, have to speak English, and be able to document their public and social service. Participants must have an EU or Eastern Partnership country’s citizenship.

We encourage to participate in Civic Academy all those who care about the space in which they operate. It will serve as an experience-sharing opportunity and will allow its participants to meet outstanding personalities. Already confirmed has been the attendance of Prof. Zygmunt Bauman, President Lech Walesa, and Prof. Benjamin Barber as Academy’s speakers.
